Recognizing And Honoring Rock/Metal/Prog Music

The Call For Entries Is Open August 1, 2022 - January 2, 2023!
• Nominations Voting will take place in February 2023. The results will be posted on The Entry List.
• Award Winners Voting will take place in March 2023. Award Winners will be announced in May 2023. Details to be announced.
• Entries that are nominated for an award may win one of the following in their music genre's awards categories:
• The RMA Award - decided by vote of the RMA Membership.
• The Judges Spotlight Award - decided by vote of our panel of judges if they wish to honor an entry that did not receive The RMA Award.
• The President's Spotlight Award - given by the president of The RMA if they wish to bring attention to an outstanding entry that did not receive The RMA Award or Judges Spotlight Award.

You don't have to be an RMA member to enter your commercially released music or enter your favorite artist's music into the RMA Awards process. However, if you are already a member - type in your RMA Member Number and you won't be charged.

Instructions For Entry Section:
 Your entry must be commercially released and available for listening on YouTube Music or Spotify or both. You don't have to have a website or Facebook page but if you do - we want those links. If entering a song/track from an album - "Release Title" is your album's title. The "Track Title" is the song/track you are entering. If entering a single - "Release Title" is your single's title. The "Track Title" is the single song/track your are entering. Please enter the song/track title on your single that you are entering especially if there's more than one song/track on the single release. i.e. the radio version or the instrumental version.

Awards Categories
These categories are for each of our music genres. Check all that apply to your entry and that you wish your entry to be considered for in your genre.

Best Album Awarded to the artist, performers, songwriters, and production team of a full album release based on the album's total impact combining songwriting, musicality, production, performance, emotion imparted, and consistency of these qualities throughout the songs/tracks of the album.
Best Song/Track Awarded to the artist, performers, songwriters, and production team of a song/track on either an album or single release; based on the total impact combining songwriting, musicality, production, performance, and emotion imparted.
Best Songwriting Awarded to the artist and songwriters of a song/track that appears on an album or single release for the strength of the songwriting itself; based on structure, lyrics, and emotion imparted.
Best Production Awarded to the artist and production team of a song/track that appears on an album or single release; based on the strength of the sound recording quality, arrangement, and the overall effectiveness in conveying emotion and/or energy.
Best Male Vocal Performance Awarded to the artist, and male vocal performers either solo, duo, or group for an outstanding recorded performance on either an album track or single; based on abilities displayed, vocal strength, execution of melody, and emotion or energy conveyed.
Best Female Vocal Performance Awarded to the artist, and female vocal performers either solo, duo, or group for an outstanding recorded performance on either an album track or single; based on abilities displayed, vocal strength, execution of melody, and emotion or energy conveyed.
Best Guitar Performance Awarded to the artist and guitar player/s on a song/track for an outstanding recorded performance of overall playing or solos in either a solo, duo, or group performance on either an album track or single; based on abilities displayed, tone, melody, and emotion or energy conveyed.
Best Musical Performance Awarded to the artist, and musical performers either solo, duo, or group for an outstanding recorded performance on either an album track or single; based on overall musicianship and/or song/tracks that contain unusual instrumentation including but not limited to keyboards and orchestral instruments, and/or unusual use of instruments, and the overall effectiveness in conveying emotion or energy.
Best Epic Awarded to the artist, musical performers, writers, and production team for an outstanding song/track on either an album or single release - with more than 3 sections (verse, chorus, bridge); or, these sections have been extended or varied in some way; or, the running time of the song/track is greater than 4:30 (minutes:seconds).
Best Video Awarded to the artist and video production team - for an outstanding visual presentation of a song/track released either solely on video, album format, or single format.
